Jesus Christ spent his earthly ministry investing himself into the lives of his followers; he was devoted to developing disciples (John 17:4). Based on his ministry, we know that discipleship is not a program, a class, or curriculum. Rather, it is the process of one person establishing another in the word and work of Jesus Christ.

This book is not discipleship, but a guide. The material within provides a philosophy of discipleship that promotes intentional mentorship relationships and the transfer of spiritual life.
